BEGINNERS LEVEL: How and Why to Protect Yourself Around Your Horse Part 1

The Protect Yourself series will include many things. In this video I will show you how to keep the Horses butt away from you. Whenever you are working with a horse you must be in command. If they are turning their butt towards you their not paying attention to you. You need to have eye contact with the horse. As I demonstrate my method you will see that the horse will watch me and my eyes. They will pay attention to my voice as well as my commands. In the process of your horse learning these things a deep relationship will be built. Once your horse trusts you they will do anything for you.

In the process of training your horse, you must follow through. Don’t stop halfway. Complete the process, no matter how long it takes. Once they know you are not giving up, they will comply. They will learn that they can trust you and, they can learn to enjoy learning. Horses can be stubborn. They can push your buttons, get you upset and, fight you the whole way. But, if you remain calm and consistent, you will develop a relationship. They will love you and want you to teach them. Watch this video to see how it works. Enjoy!

About Dan Stroud

Besides my family, I have two great passions in my life, competition armwrestling with the World Armwrestling League and my horses. I have been riding horses since I was 3 years old. Horses are spirit creatures that have a highly developed intuition and sixth sense which gives them the ability to perceive a person's emotional state, their attitude, personality and hidden intentions. If you will learn how to teach them with kindness and never give up, they will respect you and your children, and become very loyal friends for life.I wish you many happy trails in your life. – Dan Stroud
